Choose a Chatbase alternative around the work you need your chatbot to do. Website answers, support handoff, booking and social marketing require different workflows. A longer feature list does not tell you which tool will answer your customers correctly.

Checked October 3, 2026. Competitor capabilities below come from official public documentation, not a hands-on performance benchmark. Prices are in USD with monthly billing unless stated otherwise.

What Chatbase already offers

Chatbase supports GPT, Claude, Gemini and other model families. It also documents custom API actions, lead capture, booking, human handoff, webhooks and message rate limits. Those capabilities should not be treated as missing when evaluating alternatives. Chatbase, actions, webhooks, guardrails.

Its sources include websites, documents, text, Q&A, Notion and support tickets. Standard and Pro include weekly source resync. Check your source types and plan requirements before switching. Chatbase.

Standard$119.9912,000$1504,000
Pro$399.9940,000$50015,000

Usage allowances are different units. Chatbase deducts credits according to the model selected; a response can use more than one credit. The table compares advertised plan allowances, not equivalent answer volume or measured value per dollar. Chatbase.

Agentkit Hobby includes API access, one chatbot and unlimited website links within 40MB of storage. Standard includes two chatbots, three team seats, source refresh and branding removal. Pro includes three chatbots and five seats. Free includes one chatbot, 50 messages, ten website links and 400KB of storage. Agentkit.

Chatbase API access starts on Standard. Its Free plan has 50 monthly credits and deletes agents after 14 days of inactivity. Extra agents cost $25/month and branding removal is advertised at $99/month. Annual billing and add-ons change total cost, so check both current pricing pages. Agentkit, Chatbase.

These are use-case starting points inferred from each vendor's positioning. They are not a ranking or a claim that one vendor has better accuracy. Check current plans and try the same source material and questions.

How to compare before you migrate

Build a test set from real customer questions. Include an answer found on a public page, one from a document, a question that needs several sources, and a question your content cannot answer. Check correctness, useful source references and whether the chatbot admits missing information.

Next, test the workflow that matters to your team. Confirm API access on the intended plan, lead fields, human handoff, channel compatibility and source updates. Estimate usage for your selected model and include seats, branding and extra agents in the budget.

Migration checklist

  1. Gather original URLs, files, text and Q&A. Chatbase's export supports some source types but does not export websites, Notion or tickets.
  2. Build the replacement alongside your current agent. Recreate instructions and supported actions.
  3. Run the same questions and verify integrations, source coverage and mobile embedding.
  4. Replace the website snippet after the checks pass. Keep the old snippet for rollback and review new conversations after launch.

Can I choose an alternative just for more messages?

Compare expected responses under the models you plan to use. Agentkit messages and Chatbase model-dependent credits are not interchangeable. A plan with a larger allowance still needs the source, channel and integration features your workflow requires.

Do I need to switch to get Claude, Gemini or webhooks?

Chatbase already documents those capabilities. Switch for a verified requirement, a better fit for your workflow, or a tested cost difference. Model choice alone does not establish that another product is more accurate. Chatbase, webhooks.
