Sources

Train your agent with website content, documents, text snippets, and Q&A pairs.

Sources are the training data your agent uses to answer questions. Add content from your website, upload documents, paste text, or define exact Q&A pairs.

Source Types

Website

Crawl pages from your website. We extract text content and keep it updated with auto-retraining (paid plans).

How Training Works

Your agent uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG):

  1. When a visitor asks a question, the system searches your sources
  2. It retrieves the most relevant content sections
  3. The AI generates a natural response based on that content

This means your agent only answers based on what you've trained it with - it won't make things up.

Source Status

Each source shows a status indicator:

StatusMeaning
ProcessingContent is being analyzed and indexed
ReadyContent is available for the agent
FailedError during processing - check the source and retry

Processing time depends on content size. Most sources complete within seconds to a few minutes.

Storage Limits

Storage is calculated per agent based on processed content:

PlanStorage Per Agent
Free400KB
Hobby40MB
Standard40MB
Pro40MB

Large documents are automatically chunked for optimal retrieval.

Best Practices

  1. Quality over quantity - 10 relevant pages beat 100 loosely related ones
  2. Start with FAQs - Your FAQ page often covers the most common questions
  3. Use Q&A for precision - Critical answers (pricing, policies) should use Q&A sources
  4. Keep content current - Enable auto-retraining or manually update after changes

Managing Sources

From the Sources tab you can:

  • View all sources with search and filtering
  • Add new sources by type
  • Edit existing sources (title, content for text sources)
  • Delete sources you no longer need
  • Retrain sources to refresh content
