Squarespace

Install and test Agentkit's current two-tag widget on a Squarespace site.

To add a floating chat bubble to Squarespace, copy the complete generated code from your agent's Channels → Website embed → Chat widget page. It contains a bootstrap script and a widget script. Keep both tags and their generated values together.

Install sitewide

  1. Enable Chat widget in Agentkit and select Copy code.
  2. Open your Squarespace site's Code Injection panel.
  3. Paste both generated script tags into Footer, then save. Squarespace inserts this field before the closing </body> tag on every page.
  4. Open a normal published page in a private browser window. Check the chat bubble, then send a question with a known answer from your sources.

Squarespace says Code Injection is available on Core, Plus, Advanced, and some legacy plans. It does not run on native checkout pages. The site editor may disable injected scripts during preview, so test the public URL.

If the widget does not work

  • If the bubble is absent, confirm Chat widget is enabled, both generated tags are in the published page source, and your Squarespace plan includes Code Injection. Remove any old duplicate widget snippet.
  • If the bubble opens but a message fails, check the browser's network errors and allowed domains. Include the custom domain and any Squarespace subdomain you actually test.
  • If an answer is wrong, check the agent's sources and test the question in Playground. An installed widget alone does not verify answer quality.

The Squarespace walkthrough gives the full preparation and public-page acceptance check. Squarespace treats third-party code as outside its support scope; check mobile layout on your own site.
