Add your agent to a Wix site using Custom Code in site settings.

Add your AI agent to a Wix site using the Custom Code feature. Works on any published Wix site that meets the platform requirements below.

In Agentkit, open Channels → Website embed → Chat widget, enable the channel, and copy the complete generated code. It contains an inline bootstrap and an asynchronous widget loader. Keep both script tags together.

Quick Setup

  1. Open the Wix Dashboard for your site.
  2. In the left sidebar, go to Settings.
  3. Under Development & integrations, click Custom Code.
  4. Click + Add Custom Code.
  5. Paste your embed code into the code field.
  6. Under Name, enter something like Agentkit Widget.
  7. Under Add Code to Pages, select All pages and choose to load the code on each page your visitor opens.
  8. Under Place Code in, select Body - end.
  9. Click Apply.

Paste both generated script tags into one Wix Custom Code entry. Do not replace them with a one-tag example or type your own widget URL and agent ID.

Plan & Domain Requirements

Wix Custom Code requires:

  • A paid Premium plan.
  • A connected custom domain (e.g. yourcompany.com). Free sites on *.wixsite.com subdomains cannot use Custom Code.

If you see the Custom Code option greyed out or locked, upgrade the plan and connect a domain first.

Page-Specific Install

To load the widget only on specific pages:

  • In step 7 above, choose Choose specific pages instead of All pages.
  • Select the pages you want.

After Saving

Custom Code does not run inside the Wix Editor preview. You must open the live, published site at your custom domain to see the widget.

Troubleshooting

Widget doesn't appear in the Editor or Preview.

  • Expected. Custom Code only runs on the live published site. Open the real URL.

Widget doesn't appear on the live site either.

  • Confirm the status of your Custom Code snippet is Active (not Inactive).
  • Confirm you're on a paid plan with a connected custom domain.
  • Confirm your live Wix domain is allowed by your Agentkit domain restrictions.
  • Hard-refresh (⌘+Shift+R) to bypass Wix's CDN cache.

I'm on a free Wix plan.

  • Upgrade to a Premium plan and connect a custom domain, or use our Iframe integration embedded in a Wix HTML iframe element as a partial alternative.

Testing

  1. Open your published site URL in an incognito window.
  2. Look for the chat bubble.
  3. Click to open and send a test message.
  4. Inspect the published page source and confirm both generated script tags are present.
